Juliusz A. Chrościcki (1942–2024)

On Tuesday 16th of January Juliusz A. Chrościcki passed away in Warsaw.

Professor Chrościcki was an art historian whose research was focused on the Baroque art, history of culture and iconography of power. With great passion he pursued his research work and trained the next generation art historians while working at the Warsaw University and at the John Paul II Pontifical University in Cracow.

Juliusz A. Chrościcki was closely connected with IRSA. He was a member of the Advisory Committee of “Artibus et Historiae” journal and Vice president of the IRSA Foundation for the Promotion of Culture. He published his articles “On Directed Graph Models of Influences in Art Theory” written with Vladimir P. Odinec, “The Recovered Modello of P.P. Rubens’ Disembarkation at Marseilles. The Problem of Control and Censorship in the Cycle Life of Maria de’ Medici” and recollection of Professor Jan Białostocki in the “Artibus et Historiae”.
